EMDR Therapy (Jennifer)
EMDR Therapy is a comprehensive, mind-body therapy approach, useful for overcoming stressful experiences of all kinds — even deeply embedded memories or traumas, which can be the basis of your depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, phobias, fears, or performance issues. This treatment is most effective in treating PTSD and trauma.
EMDR stands for “Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.” Excellent randomized-control studies have demonstrated that Eye Movements can help our brains to calm distressed memories and negative thoughts that we’ve been stuck in. The goal of this therapy is to help people get “unstuck” and gain the freedom to move past painful, uncomfortable and distressing thoughts, feelings and sensations.
This therapy is especially useful for individuals who have had little progress and results in traditional talk therapy or for those who talk therapy is not appealing. We provide EMDR therapy for adults 18 and over. Please ask us for referrals for children and teens.
A growing body of research indicates that simply being outdoors in the presence of nature has positive effects on our physical and mental wellbeing. Some people also find it easier to say what is on their minds while walking. Outdoor therapy has the added benefit of increasing vitamin D levels, boosting serotonin, improving sleep, increasing focus, and improving physical health. Your therapist will most likely be willing to do a walking session around the office anytime for no additional fee, but we are also willing to meet established clients for trail walks or incorporate movement or mindfulness-based approaches according to your needs in a natural setting. Please contact your therapist directly if you’d like to arrange an off-site, outdoor session.
Outdoor sessions are $150 for a 60 minute session or $200 for 90 minutes.
Phone Therapy (Nicole)
Many people struggle with finding the time to come into the office on a regular basis for therapy due to things like having children at home, illness or residing out of the Louisville area. Whatever the reason, Nicole is able to complete sessions over the phone exclusively or an an as needed basis.
Intensive Mind-Body Anxiety Treatment (Jennifer)
Are you feeling overwhelmed managing your anxiety symptoms and having difficulty with work, parenting, relationships and/or sleep? Intensive treatment is for individuals who are experiencing severe anxiety, PTSD, OCD, phobias, social anxiety, panic attacks, chronic stress and/or vicarious trauma. Based on current research and years of anxiety treatment clinical experience, we have found that consistent and regular therapeutic work (at least 2-3 hours per week) on managing anxiety symptoms produces more effective and long lasting results with severe anxiety. If you are ready to do some serious work, but can’t leave work or afford inpatient treatment, this intensive therapy option could be for you.
Option 1: 2 hours per week for 12 weeks – (payment options available, discount for clients who pay in full) $300 per week
Option 2: 4 hours per week for 8 weeks – (payment options available, discount for clients who pay in full) $500 per week
After intensive treatment, you can continue for follow up appointments with a therapist for weekly, bi-weekly or monthly therapy appointments until all of your goals have been met.
You will receive a free 15-20 minute screening phone call to see if this treatment is right for you. We only accept 1-2 intensive clients at a time.
