Andrea Preston LPPC

Therapist with Focus in Child and Family Therapy

Andrea (she/her/hers) graduated from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology and a specialty in Child Protection and has been working over 5 years in mental health with children, teens, and families in various settings. She has completed 216hr training in Somatic Experiencing through Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute and is currently finishing a 3 year Somatic Experiencing practitioner certification. Andrea is a connected soul that provides a clear presence with each session. Individuals, especially children, find this connection and presence reassuring as they learn, grow, and explore during their journey. She creates a space where people can understand the impact of trauma, stress, and emotional dysregulation on their whole being. She enjoys the process of nurturing resilience and supporting regulation in all environments. Andrea integrates body, energy, and regulation work, emotional processing, play, and traditional talk therapy. She engages the family unit in the therapeutic process with psychoeducation to support individuals on their journey. Andrea has experience with diverse populations and many different family make ups. She holds a passion for transforming trauma and working within developmental years. Andrea has also worked with individuals who have adoption histories. She specializes in treatment of trauma, complex trauma, family/relationship stressors, anxiety, depression, and grief/loss.
