Vanessa Blades (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. She completed her Masters of Arts in Counseling: Specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Chicago’s Adler University in 2014. She has clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults of diverse orientation, identities and cultures in a variety of settings including Inpatient Psychiatric Care, Residential Treatment Care, Adult and Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Therapy Programs, Community Mental Health Care Facilities, and Therapeutic School Programs, which met the needs of students with educational, developmental, and emotional-behavioral obstacles. Vanessa has worked as a researcher in Northern Ireland investigating the impact of war and sectarianism (The Troubles) on the psychological, emotional, spiritual, and socio-economic well-being of its people as well as the effectiveness of present cross-community (peace) organizations in assisting healing and positive change. Making the decision to begin or continue in therapy can feel like a vulnerable and challenging process for a person and entire family. Vanessa is committed to creating a safe space and being an ally and advocate with you as we explore your individual strengths and in working towards a more helpful, balanced, and rewarding present and future.
