Kathryn Petrey E-RYT, LMFT, IMHP

Therapist with a Focus in Couples Counseling and Individual Therapy

As a registered yoga instructor, Kathryn’s (she/her/hers) approach to the therapeutic process is holistic, rooted in the mind-body-spirit connection for wellness. Kathryn operates out of a Mindfulness-based, client centered foundation to serve as a positive support during times of transition and uncertainty within the human struggle; working to actively shift away from feeling stuck. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Kathryn utilizes evidence-based, systemic, integrative and solution building approaches grounded in Mindfulness to guide her practice. As a couples therapist, Kathryn assists clients in gaining clarity, improving communication and deepening the emotional bond. She guides clients toward healing, rebuilding trust and discovering new positive interaction for generating mutual growth and reconnection. Kathryn’s overall focus is in guiding clients from distress to inner calm and relational harmony. She assists clients in moving beyond current limitations, relational injury, emotional pain and feelings of “stuckness” for ultimately living into the full potential of their relationship. Kathryn works to empower clients through awareness and deeper understanding in order to initiate transformation and growth. She sees the client as the expert on their life and works collaboratively to co-create in session; working together to loosen the grip of unwanted symptoms in exchange for discovering the freedom of acceptance and renewal. Kathryn aspires to assist clients in sharpening their inner clarity and values the client’s ability to discover their own inner wisdom for guidance. It is Kathryn’s understanding that awareness, acceptance and compassion usher in grace and healing. Kathryn strives to instill hope for desired change and offer the resources and tools that will light the way forward for all clients. Kathryn is a registered yoga teacher, RYT-200 and holds a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
