Rhonda Fessel LPCC, LPAT, ATR-BC, IMHP

Art Therapist

Rhonda (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Licensed Professional Art Therapist, Level II Usui Reiki Practitioner and is a certified Havening Techniques Practitioner. Rhonda believes that everyone deserves to feel better and can achieve this by investing in care for themselves. In therapy Rhonda likes to guide her clients in figuring out who they are and how to integrate all parts of themselves. She likes to incorporate techniques that heal inner child wounds, process past negative events, increase self esteem and self confidence. Rhonda views the therapeutic relationship as one of the most important aspects of healing and works to create an open, honest and non judgmental space for clients to explore their inner workings. She brings in elements of the Expressive Therapies, Mindfulness, CBT, Solution Focused, Somatic and Intuitive based techniques. Rhonda believes that everyone can reach their greatest potential with the right kind of support and nurturance. Rhonda is flexible in her approach and is able to adapt her techniques to meet the needs of each person she works with. She believes in holistic care approaches and has experienced positive transformation in her own journey through techniques that combine mind, body and spirit.

Rhonda has experience working with people of all ages who report struggling with issues of anxiety, addictions, perfectionism, life transitions, depression and trauma. Rhonda earned her M.Ed in Counseling with a Concentration in the Expressive Therapies from the University of Louisville in 2008. She has worked in a variety of mental health settings including both inpatient and outpatient facilities.

In her free time, Rhonda likes to engage in movement meditation whether it is through yoga, hiking, or hoop dance. Rhonda likes to spend time with her two children, partner and friends. She loves being outside in the sun listening to live music, bird watching, and exploring new places.

“Ironically enough, when you make peace with the fact that the purpose of life is not happiness, but rather experience and growth, happiness comes as a natural byproduct. When you are not seeking it as the objective, it will find its way to you.”
