Cassie Baker is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who received her undergraduate training at Eastern Kentucky University, where she graduated with honors. She completed her Master’s Degree (M.Ed.) in 2015 through Lindsey Wilson College. Since that time, has worked primarily in the outpatient community mental health setting, although she has also provided services both in a residential treatment facility and domestic violence shelter.
Cassie has experience treating mood disorders, trauma, personality disorders, addiction, grief & loss, and other mental health concerns. She specializes in working with adults who are living with co-mingling mental illness and substance use disorder(s). She strives to foster a safe, non-judgmental environment in which individuals are free to explore their specific challenges and barriers. She is adept in the use of cognitive-behavioral, client-centered, and other integrative evidence-based treatment modalities within the therapeutic environment. Cassie values the mind-body-spirit connection as an integral part of the treatment of mental health and substance use disorders. She promotes heightened mind/body awareness in her practice, to include the use of mindfulness-based interventions and interactive-expressive techniques. She focuses on self-compassion as one of the most powerful therapeutic tools, and the foundation on which all other skills are built.
Cassie believes that each and every individual is capable of positive change, as long as they have the tools and support needed to do so. She has found that her greatest challenges in life were most effectively managed when she was able to tend to her “whole self” needs, and through connection with others who provided the support she needed to thrive.
******* This therapist works with adults. She currently accepts Anthem and Humana BCBS insurance (or HSA, cash, check, credit and debit card). She has daytime availability for new clients.*********
