Jennifer Owens is a licensed clinical social worker and certified personal trainer with a passion for wellness and guiding people towards the life they envision for themselves. Jennifer has worked in a variety of settings in both clinical and directorial roles with more than 13 years in holistic health and 7 years in mental health. Her experience working in multidisciplinary settings informs her body-mind-spirit approach to helping people overcome anxiety and fear. She has been featured in The Active Times, She Knows and other publications and is an adjunct instructor at the University of Louisville.
Jennifer specializes in the holistic treatment of mild to severe anxiety issues; generalized anxiety, OCD, phobias (flying, public speaking, emetophobia etc.), panic attacks, agoraphobia, PTSD, social anxiety, relationship anxiety, stress, excessive worry, and fear. She will gently guide you towards an understanding of how anxiety affects the body and mind and ways to manage it long term. Her approach is especially helpful for people who are looking to reduce or eliminate medication and develop a sustainable plan for wellness. Anxiety can take a significant toll on a person both physically and mentally, Jennifer will help you reclaim your life from anxiety and thrive; improving the way you feel and doing the things you never thought were possible. Jennifer provides out-of-office services when appropriate, such as outdoor therapy, exposure sessions and other site visits. Jennifer provides LGBT friendly services and welcomes all individuals to her office.
Using personal experience battling severe panic and anxiety, Jennifer recognizes the healing power of integrative modalities such as talk therapy, physical activity, nutritional supplements, bodywork and spiritual engagement. She uses mind-body techniques, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, exposure and response prevention and solution focused interventions to help people break free of negative patterns and move towards long-term peace of mind. With the belief that there are no quick fixes, Jennifer will support and encourage you every step of the way, in and out of the office, during your journey of self-improvement and well-being.
